Cues From Rage Against The Machine & Zach de la Rocha

Hitting higher notes often becomes increasingly impossible as you try harder to hit higher notes! It’s a ‘create-your-own-monster’ type of situation.

The more you reach, the more you strain. The more you strain the less flexible you feel like your range becomes.

Then, you can’t even sing notes you think you should normally be able to sing, let alone the ‘higher’ ones you started out trying to practice! UGH!

Let’s study Rage’s Zach de la Rocha’s live performance of Killing In The Name in a new way! I’ll walk you through how Zach ‘accidentally’ hits all kinds of crazy high notes without trying at all.

He’s using his speech voice in a particular way that ANYONE can do. Once you learn how this way of speaking (and kind of yelling) feels, it’s only a short journey to unlocking those otherwise frustrating higher notes in your singing range!
