Mr. Jones – Counting Crows – Adam Duritz Isolated Vocal Analysis

Adam Duritz has been one of my favorite vocalists for decades. His “off the cuff” expressiveness, his range and his freedom is inspiring.

When you go to cover a counting crows song, it’s surprisingly difficult to do! It ends up sounding contrived or at the very least boring! It’s always good to sing songs in our own voice and not try to imitate the original singer… BUT with Adam, you have to get the character in your body and voice if you’re even going to represent the song in a fitting way.
