Light to Grit & Singing Tips

Bradly Nowell from Sublime is yet another super authentic, raw, talented vocalist. Not the most technically amazing, but there’s a lot of inspiration and a lot of connectedness on how he performed.

Being able to express with your voice in an authentic, honest way first starts with understanding the basics of mechanics how your body should work when you sing.

Bradly Nowell has a very distinct free sounding vibrato, but remember, he’s not married to his chest voice. This is key when we start talking about vibrato.

He shares this in common with many other good singers, Kurt being one of them. We’ll take this into pieces and practice dialing all these different flavors Bradly uses into your voice.

Join me as I unpack the subtle dynamics and wonderful, floating, rhythmic melodies of Bradley Nowell… And, as usual, we’ll talk a little production!

These isolated vocal tracks are quite the gem!
